We have always been huge fans of City Wedding’s especially with so many fantastic options for venues in the city and beautiful churches near by. On a recent visit to The Westin Dublin in Dublin’s City Centre we were bowled over by it’s beauty and grandeur, it is a magnificent hotel nestled among some of Dublin’s most historic sites – Trinity College, Bank of Ireland (formerly Ireland’s Parliament House) and further down the street O’Connell Bridge. Not only is the hotel steeped in History but it also boasts an ideal location for a city wedding with one of the most beautiful reception rooms we’ve ever seen, The Banking Hall which can hold up to 170 guests for your wedding.
If you are thinking of a city wedding then we would highly recommend visiting The Westin Dublin to experience it for yourself – and if wedding’s aren’t on the agenda right now you still need to pop in and sample some of the best cocktails in town at The Mint bar or enjoy some afternoon tea in the Atrium Lounge!
To find out about their wedding packages drop them a little email on email@example.com or visit The Westin Dublin website for more information.
Since the introduction of the civil partnership act for same-sex couples last year there has been an increase in the number of same-sex weddings being held around the country with more and more suppliers looking to supply to this growing market. Ireland’s first same-sex wedding website was also launched called Gay Weddings Ireland where couples planning their wedding can find the right suppliers to suit their needs. Speaking of suppliers – we came across some stationery suppliers who have created these gorgeous same-sex wedding invitations and we just had to share!! Enjoy X

You all know how we love a little D.I.Y here at The Bridal Lounge and even more so when it not only involves beautiful spring flowers but also inexpensive and easy ways to decorate your wedding reception! This idea is so simple and gorgeous, you can use these as your table centrepieces or extra decoration for around your wedding venue. Maybe mix different sizes and heights of jars if using for your table decoration!
All you need to create this look are jam jars, mason jars or baby-food jars depending on the size of vase you wish to have. Paint in your chosen colour and bunches of flowers.
1. You simply paint the bottom of clean dry jars. You can paint the whole glass part or maybe half of the glass.
2. Leave jars standing upside down to dry
3. Add your mix of fresh spring flowers to your vases once they are dry. You could also add ribbon to the top of the jars or maybe even some natural raffia tied around the middle of the jars for added effect!
