“Something Old, Something New” corsages and pins are designed by the talented and creative textile artist Natalie Katona. While planning her own wedding Natalie knew that she wanted to incorporate something unique and personal into her wedding style and when she couldn’t find what she was looking for she created her ‘Something Old, Something New’ range. Her own corsage included beautiful vintage jewellery passed down from her Grandmother and material from her bridesmaid’s dress to help her create a unique piece for her wedding day. Natalie also designed brooches for both her bridesmaid and flower girl and also one to adorn the top of her wedding cake! Something very different and special and the perfect keepsakes from her special day.

All of Natalie’s designs are handmade with vintage jewellery, beautiful ribbon and trimmings to suit your wedding colours. If you are looking for something different and would love to incorporate some of your own vintage jewellery into your wedding Natalie will have a personal consultation with you where she will go through different designs and styles that will work perfectly for your wedding. Corsages are also a lovely gift for the Mother of the Bride & Groom instead of the traditional corsages and buttonholes.

Prices for a bridal corsage (including one-hour personal consultation) start at €80, bridesmaid corsages from €35 and for other family members, prices on request.

For more information or to book a consultation with Natalie visit www.nataliekatonadesign.com or call 086 8217466
Enjoy. Aoife & Deirdre Xx

When planning Weddings we nearly always think vibrant colourful pops of colour be it through flowers, bridesmaids dresses, shoes or decor. We very rarley consider white for a wedding colour palette – but looking at these gorgeous pictures we would LOVE to plan a winter white wedding – so pretty. Add hundreds of twinkly tealights and you have a sparkly winter white wedding wonderland!! Have a great weekend – happy planning. Aoife & Deirdre X

Our lovely friends Erin and Courtney of the very talented duo ErinheartsCourt have so kindly shared Sara & Reno’s wedding with us – a stunning winter wedding shot last year in Whistler, Canada. It is packed full of all the beautiful details a Winter Wedding should have….winter white landscapes, sumptuous fur jackets, christmas trees and decorations with warm open fires – perfect! Erin and Courtney were so lucky to photograph not only a beautiful Wedding but how stunning are the bride & groom?! We hope you enjoy this wedding as much as we do – if we could do it all again, we’d both have Winter Weddings, Sara’s hair, dress & fur and of course Erin & Courtney to photograph for us! Thanks so much! Aoife & Deirdre Xx

Greetings on this Frosty, Frozen Friday!!! Here’s a couple of winter warmers and good ideas that we uncovered during the week!!
Gorgeous, gorgeous, GORGEOUS – we were nearly drooling when this fabulous Karl Donoghue shearling shawl crossed our paths on www.netaporter.com, how stunning would it be over a lace or silk wedding dress for a very stylish winter bride! Next up all this powdery snow that’s been falling from our skies reminded us of fabulous little snowglobes that we had when we were kids. The amazing people in Anthropologie decided to use them to display their wares in their Christmas schemes in stores, but the even cleverer people at WellWorn went one step better and are showing us how to make them ourselves!! We think they would be so much fun to have as your place-cards or as personalised decorations in a table-setting!!
How romantic are these mugs…. perfect present for the perfect couple, or to share with your other half! Designed by ceramicist Rob Ryan they come in a beautiful gift box and an even more romantic heart detail on their reverse…. needless to say they make more sense when they’re filled with hot chocolate and ‘clinked’ together with a loved one! Article in the Powerscourt Townhouse Center have a few sets left, so hurry if you want them in your stocking!!

Another little DIY project for anyone snowed in this weekend – fab little personalised paper hanging tealight holders, we can just picture them glittering and glowing dotted through a snow-capped tree! One of our favourite blogs DesignSponge have the how-tos for you! And finally…. probably the cleverest and most essential thing we came across all week…. gloves you don’t have to take off to use an i-phone or i-touch!! The tip of the index finger on both hands has been designed to replicated the sensation of your finger dragging across the screen so you’ll never have to take a glove off (or try to use your nose) to use your phone in the freezing cold again…. Ours are winging their way to us from EchoDesign as we type – woohoo ;0)
Have a wonderful, wintery weekend everyone – and be safe out there!! Deirdre & Aoife xx

You may remember we included a photo in our ‘Friday’s Fantastic Five’ post of Mary & James doing a ‘first Look’ before their Wedding Ceremony in St.Stephen’s Green…here we have some more gorgeous photos from their Wedding to share with you!! Mary and James live in Australia but came back to Mary’s native Dublin earlier this Month to celebrate an intimate Wedding with their closest friend’s and family.
While planning their Wedding they knew a late wedding in November wouldn’t allow much time for wedding portraits after the ceremony so they opted for a ‘first look’, which is where the bride & groom will see each other for the first time before their ceremony. Christina Brosnan who photographed their Wedding notes that doing the ‘first look’ particularly in winter months allows more time for portraits and allows a couple to be more relaxed for the ceremony.
The Wedding Ceremony took place at the beautiful Newman University Church which was followed by an intimate meal at Forty One on the green.

Mary and James are such a gorgeous couple – Mary looked so stunning in her retro style Wedding dress which she found on Ebay and going that step further she went to the flower markets in Dublin and made her own Bouquet!! It just proves that you don’t have to spend thousands of euros to have a beautiful wedding!

The next two shots on Grafton Street are definitely some of our favourite….how cool to go for a stroll on Grafton Street and have the world pass you by!!

Thank you so much to Mary and James for sharing their beautiful wedding photos with us – we hope that your whirlwind honeymoon is amazing! Again…a huge thank you to Christina Brosnan for capturing such gorgeous moments. Aoife & Deirdre X

Shoes glorious Shoes! We all love shoes and what better excuse than your wedding day to invest in the most beautiful pair of shoes a girl can dream of. Yellow, Gold, Navy, Purple…there are so many options so why settle for the conventional white or cream, kitten heel satin wedding shoes?? We must admit we are not huge fans of the traditional wedding shoes, they are not the most stylish or best looking shoes in the world and add to that the fact that brides certainly won’t wear them again.
We love seeing Brides who go all out and bring out their own personal style on their wedding day by wearing coloured shoes – not only do they look great in photos but you are guaranteed to wear them again – bonus!!
Have a look at some of these gorgeous images with nicest coloured shoes!!
